This course was designed to help you hone your skills and find effective models / approaches to provide effective service to CSI clients. I think we were able to establish a good understanding of ISD theory and practice during our first two discussions. The discussion about models was effective in helping us compare ISD to our own processes. For the next two weeks, use the conference and activities to determine how you can use ISD to communicate effectively with the client. Put your critical thinking caps on and ask yourself, "what are the benefits of using a systematic approach for me and my client?" I hope you don't see this as a competition for who writes the best paper, gives the best presentation, or comes up with the best model. I'd like you to consider this course an opportunity for us to explore and improve our individual professional processes, our CSI services, and most importantly to improve our ability to provide effective results to our clients. For the next two weeks of the course, I challenge you to be aware of your current approach(es) / model(s) and consider ways to improve them so that you can provide and communicate effective results to your clients. |
Discussion: As you review the case, consider how ISD theories and principles were used to find solutions and develop processes. The authors used the ADDIE model to design the solution to their problem, however another model might have been more effective. What do you think?
Note: The best way to engage in this activity is to treat this case study as though it were a project you were doing for CSI. Please feel free to include your ideas for how you would have approached this project if it had been yours using the information you have learned in this course.
- Write a critique of how the ADDIE model was used to provide solutions in this case study. Include a summary of advantages and disadvantages for using the ADDIE model in this case study.
- Consider another model that might have been used for this case study and briefly explain the pros and cons of using the model you chose for this case study.
